App Review - EasyWriter

Product: EasyWriter by Saxorama.net

Review: EasyWriter is something that should be part of the iphone firmware, but is not. It basically allows user to type in a wide keyboard in landscape mode. It fully utilize the touchscreen spaces and makes typing on an iPhone/iTouch a lot easier. When you are done with the typing, you hit the 'Send to Mail' button to move the text to a 'New Message' screen of the mail app. As an added bonus, you can pinch and zoom to read and navigate around the text.

I find it much easier to type in landscape mode compares to the regular mode. I wish I can use it for other applications such as Google Map instead of just mail. Also it would be nice if it is integrate better with mail.

But I think Apple will eventually add this feature natively to the gadget. But before then, EasyWriter is a nice substitute. Also it is free.

Thanks for the review! Last night Apple approved version 2.0 of EasyWriter Pro, a wide-keyboard mail app that now includes two new features:

1) A spell checker that is as powerful as any desktop spell checker, but fits in the iPhone UI.

2) Blackberry-style AutoText so you can type something short (like "sig") and have it automatically replaced by a longer text clipping.
