iPhone News Of The Day

  • I’ve actually never used the Kindle iPhone app, but there you have it. Apparently, it’s better now.
Someday I’ll need to actually find a book to put on it and try it out (not today, though). © Ragart for Just Another iPhone Blog, 2010. |

    • App developers offer praise for Apple in a new video released by...Apple. Sure the video is nothing more than a self-promotion, and offers quick jabs at the competition, but it is nice to watch anyway.
      • The HTC Evo , with its 4.3" display, is a humongous phone. But next to the forthcoming Motorola Droid X , which reportedly also sports a 4.3" screen, the Evo looks positively reasonable. Yeah, the Droid X is gonna be large. [ BGR ] More »

      • Steve Jobs says the iPhone 4's 'retina display' means that the human eye can't distinguish its pixels. It all depends on how you define what a human eye can see.
        • Never, ever doubt the skill and determination of the guys over at xda-developers , capable of cracking any device and bringing you fresh ROMs to brighten up your stuffy gadgets. This latest bit of wunder-code isn't a full new image, rather a tiny WinMo app that does something magical: enables multitouch on single-touch resistive screens. How? Sadly developer OndraSter isn't saying just yet, but it relies on leaving one finger in place and moving the other, so perhaps it detects a jump in touch…
        • The app approval team over at Apple and developers have been busy lately and it shows. The iPad App Store now contains over 10,000 apps. Read on after the break for more.
          • Newsreaders come in many shapes and sizes but they are all basically the same. However, Pulse for iPad is different, according to one of its co-creators, who discusses Steve Jobs, the release of an iPhone Pulse app, and he and his partner's upcoming college graduation.
            • AppAdvice has teamed up with v636 Software Solutions in order to offer you a chance to win one of five (5) promo codes for Jake ($.99).
              • Filed under: iPad I believe we've mentioned Moodboard exactly once on the site before, as one of Brett's picks back when the iPad first released. But it deserves another mention -- developer Chris Nurre of A Tiny Tribe (a company founded with a friend to help pay for skeleton equipment and travel) stopped by to see us at WWDC to both show off the app and let us know how is experience on the App Store has been going. While I'm not a designer ( a mood board is a real designer's tool, kind of…
                • Today's list lacks iPad and non-game apps, but filling the void is the marvelous Puzzle Quest Chapter 1 & 2, one of the best match-3 RPG hybrids you will ever play. We also have a handful of other games that are available for free for the very first time.
                  • No, Android fan boys and girls, you're not imagining it. We'll be rounding up the best new Android apps every two weeks from here on out. This week, apps that make you smarterer . More »

                  • MTV Star Factory departs from the safety of music or dancing simulators in favor of a music management simulation game. Instead of pretending to be Green Day or Lady Gaga, you get to pretend to be the guy or gal who hires them and makes them famous.
                    • The hotly anticipated iPad version of Reeder, the popular iPhone RSS app, landed in the App Store last night, and with a clean look and some thoughtful navigational tools, it's immediately at the head of the iPad RSS pack. More »

                    • Filed under: iPhone , iPod touch , App Review Any dice game review is required by law to compare the new game to Yahtzee (if we don't, we lose our right to ever roll a d6 again). So, let's get this out of the way early: the Roll Through The Ages app [ $2.99 ], released last week, shares but three features with Yahtzee: it uses dice, you roll them three times (keeping the ones you like between throws) and you mark things off on a scorecard after each roll. Instead of collecting simple numbers, in…
                      • Radio Shack has announced that their stores will start taking iPhone 4 pre-orders starting June 15. In a message posted on Twitter, the company has also confirmed that the sale of iPhone 4 shall commence in the stores from June 24 - the day when the new iPhone is expected...
                      • I've used Beatmaker and I Am T-Pain before, but not like this! I was sent this link and proceeded to watch the video with my jaw resting on the floor. Apparently, you can create covers of famous songs - that is if you have 4 iPhones, a lot of cables, and the right apps... Either way, AppleGirl002 is my new hero (granted, her voice is a bit rough around the edges, but you have to admire her tenacity). Although I can't vouch for her original music, she's done an excellent job of recreating the…
                        • The 2010 edition of the FIFA World Cup is finally underway in South Africa. The next one month will see 32 teams battle it out for the much coveted championship. While there is nothing that can substitute live action on TV, there are some cool iPhone apps that will keep...
                        • Like a Norman Rockwell painting trying to hit you with a bazooka, Valve’s fantastic team-based multiplayer game Team Fortress 2 is now available on Steam for Mac. Even better? It’s free to play this weekend for everyone with a Steam for Mac account, and if you want to play after, Valve has discounted the [...]

                                • It isn't entirely a secret that Time Magazine's iPad app isn't the best magazine app in the App Store. Ok, it isn't even close to being the best but they did develop it in a little under 40 days. However the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem and they have done just that. Hit the break for more and a video demo.
                                  • Walmart is expected to join the iPhone 4 launch party come June 24th. • What you're looking at here, folks, is the extreme wardrobe you can expect to see when you waltz into a corporate-owned AT&T retail location on the iPhone 4's launch day later this month -- and even better, casual pants and footwear may be worn if approved! On a more serious note, though, this launch packet we've received confirms that stores will be opening on 7AM on the 24th and that new AT&T customers will be restricted to a maximum of one device (the same restriction applies to the…
