Wanting to connect to the internet, I opened up Settings and went to select the AT&T wireless connection that almost [...]

I recently had the chance to review a very good iPhone app that serves as tips and tricks guide for beginning iPhone users, called Tips & Tricks – The Ultimate Guide to iPhone Secrets.  Just a few days ago, I came across another app [...]
            • After Jorge Colombo’s iPhone art was featured on the cover of the New Yorker, it seems everyone wants to get their fingers in the pie.
The Brushes app Colombo used to finger paint a late-night scene in Manhattan sold 2,700 copies when the cover debuted Monday, earning slightly over $13,000. It usually sells around 60-70 copies [...] This article is copyright Cultomedia Corp .
              • Sky Burger is an iPhone or iPod touch app that puts you in charge of taking orders and stacking all the ingredients. Catch the right ingredients as they fall from the sky, and don’t forget that top bun when you’re done! The orders start to get pretty crazy after a while. Imagine a burger [...]
                • Ok, let's just acknowledge something so we can all move on. This happened . Now, some apps. It's been a hell of a week for the iPhone and the App Store , and one we covered closely . Here are a few apps that slipped through the cracks. Melodica : It's a bit like Bloom , except more rigid, more practical, and less whimsical. With Bloom, you discover ambient soundscapes with inexact pokes and unguessable time signatures; with Melodica, everything's pretty much on rails, including your tempo.…
                  • And then there was light Our next-gen iPhone specs list indicated that the new device would contain an illuminated Apple logo and a different front bezel, and while we were skeptical ourselves, one website went out of their way to bash the idea altogether. The funny thing is, that same website ended up getting a tip [...]
                    • Why does the iPhone get its own app roundup every week? W-w-what about the rest of us? WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THIS SMARTPHONE? We should explain. We've given Apple's App Store quite a bit of coverage from the start, and rightly so—it was (and is) a flawed product, but it's consistently updated with new, interesting material. The other thing is, people use it. A lot. Seeing this, other companies have since joined in , or announced plans to do so in the near future. Some of these…
                      • Wouldn't it be great if you could control your car with your iPhone? If you disregard how stupedly dangerous it is, then the answer is absolutly yes. Unfortunately for us, we'll just have to settle for this surprisingly well-made video displaying how such an app might work. Video after the break.
                        • Those of you reading this from Indonesia are in luck. Macworld reports that In celebration of Telkomsel's 14th anniversary this month, the company, which happens to be the official carrier of the iPhone 3G in the country, is offering Rp. 1 million (roughly $96 as of earlier today) off of all models of iPhone 3G for anyone who signs up for a 12 month contract. More info on the deal is available here for those who can read the language.
                          • There’s a lot to love about the iPhone, but its ability to manage email is, well, lacking — especially when it comes to search. All My Mail is a new app from Attassa that lets you search across your web-based email accounts, including attachments and contact lists, to quickly find what you need.
                            The standard version [...]

                          • The Egs HiPhone Nano F210 borrows some of the aura of... well, the Aura. And why not? Half the fun of the KIRF scene is the way that these bandits mix and match aspects of devices according to whatever crazy whim they might be experiencing at the moment. (The other half of the fun? Exploding batteries , of course.) Along with the stylish and quite possibly functional iPod click wheel, this bad boy features: tri-band GSM, a 1.4-inch screen, VGA camera, Bluetooth A2DP, FM tuner, and some sort of media player.…
                          • PocketGuitar, which mimics a guitar fretboard and provided various types of guitar sounds, takes the metaphor a little too literally. Because of the size of the iPhone's screen, you can only access a few frets at a time, and you can't slide up and down the fretboard gracefully. Guitar players will find this app frustrating.
                            • The Associated Press reports that in an attempt to deter truancy, Aoyama Gakuin University will be handing out 550 iPhone 3Gs to students at the School of Social Informatics, making for a total of 1000 test run participants. The device, they hope, will be used by students for research purposes and to receive class schedule and lecture information.

Visit the original article at http://justanotheriphoneblog.com/wordpress/iphone-news/hurrah-brushes-app-gets-a-big-boost-from-new-yorker-cover-stories/ . I’m always happy to see stories about developers of great iPhone apps doing well out of their efforts – and this week we’ve got an excellent example of that.
The New York Times reports that Steve Sprang, the developer of the Brushes app, has seen [...]
                                  • Filed under: iPhone , App Store , iPod touch , Friday Favorite , App Review Hey, the weekend is coming, so how serious can we be? Sky Burger , [App Store] a pretty cute arcade game for the iPhone and iPod touch, is free today only. The game involves tilting your iPhone to catch ingredients to make a sandwich with the required ingredients. There are 50 possible burger orders to try and get right. You cap it all off with a bun. It reminds me a little bit of the theme of the 1982 game called Burger Time. Sky…
                                  • Daring Fireball's John Gruber has posted his satirical rendition of what might go through the mind of an iPhone app reviewer at Apple, titled "Excerpts From the Diary of an App Store Reviewer". While it's good for a few laughs, it's about as funny as it is frustrating, as a lot of what we saw wasn't much different. We can only hope someone at Apple sees it and gets the idea. You can check it out at Daring Fireball .
                                    • Available In: Cydia       Price: Free   SBSettings recently had an update to version 2.99. The update bring some significant changes to the application. Some of the changes that I really like are:
                                          • The ability to move the toggle order. This allows you to move the toggles you use most often to the top of SBSettings.

                                        • AppleInsider says "people familiar with Apple's training program" tell them that new self-guided training materials are being distributed to AppleCare agents teaching them about the features in iPhone OS 3.0, and they "definitely covered" the direct downloading of movies and TV shows to the device itself.
                                          • The attendance reporting app used by the Aoyama Gakuin university. (Credit: SoftBank) If American school children have to resort to some special mosquito ringtone to use cell phones at school, a university in Japan is doing the opposite: giving cell phones to students. And not just any cell phone--the iPhone 3G. According to Asiajin , about 550 students and staff members in the School of Social Informatics at Tokyo-based university Aoyama Gakuin received the iPhone 3G for free earlier this month as part…
